My name is Jared Feng, a sinner saved by the sovereign pleasure of the Triune God. I am a data scientist / machine learning engineer for a small software company in the clean energy space. I plow in the land of VSCode, TypeScript, GitHub Pull Requests, and so on, for 40 hours every week. I am single, been praying for a godly wife and a quiver of children. I attend First Baptist Church of Calgary, serving her in various ways. Doctrinally, I am evangelical, Calvinistic, eschatologically optimistic, baptistic, and complementarian (“patriarchal” is probably the better term). I am still not sure which kind of covenant theology is the right kind, which would be the wetter part of my theological cement.
I built this site to publish my thoughts and reflections on all kinds of things, ultimately to glorify God, edify the Church, and witness to the unbeliever. In reality, I see this as a practicum of my self-paced wordsmithing apprenticeship. I will probably start by posting snippets of my reads, meanwhile building a page to track my reading list; later on you will likely see articles with more carefully forged words. In any event, expect theology that barks, roars, and bites back. Yes, I am that kind of Christian, and I want to become that kind of a writer. Until then, thanks for visiting a rather boring website, and may your life not be like so.
